book tour-ness !

so, as promised, i'm going to bore you all (referring to those of you who actually bother to read my blog - yay i love you ! :D) by telling you about the whole book tour thingie i'm doing to promote my book. it's a really big experience for me, and i'm having the time of my life. basically (i just found out i say that word WAAAAYYY too much) what i'm doing is going round different schools (while missing two weeks of my own hahaha xP) to talk to the jr 5s, 6s, form 1s + 2s about reading, writing and, obviously, my book.

i've been to fourteen schools so far, and the response i've been getting is amaazzziiinngg :D the students actually listen to me and i feel so special when someone tells me i inspired them (: i'm hoping to inspire more people, because writing is something i love with a passion, so if there are other people who share the same passion, it's a great feeling knowing i was an inspiration to them, especially since i'm a student just like them.

at the end of each talk thingie, there's also a book-signing, which is by far the best part. seriously, they line up (if we're talking about an orderly school) and wait patiently for me to sign their books/bookmarks/mousemats/random pieces of paper/tissues (yes, i signed three tissues last week). if we're talking about a school where the students aren't patient, then they jump on us from the front, the back, the side, whilst shoving the table into our ribs so we can hardly even breathe. oh and when i say "we", i'm referring to simon, who's come with me to most schools too .. so yeah, he gets to soak up my glory .. jks, he actually did a fantastic job with the illustrations so yeah (: (si, i'm openly praising you on the internet for everbody to see .. i expect you to be nicer to me now :P)
anyway, since i don't really even know what i've been writing for the past ten minutes, i think i'll just [try] put up some pictures to give you a general idea of what my life has been like for the past week (:
take care,
chi (: x

p.s. yesterday i learned that "patronizing" and "patriotic" don't have a similar meaning, and i think that's very silly.
